There were so many things about a new baby that my three-year-old found so completely fascinating! There were bottles, diapers, wipes that smell good she said, and above all, there was Vaseline! Yes, when my oldest son made his entrance into this world this amazing and fun product called “Vaseline” made its entrance into our world as well! My daughter would watch me use a little q-tip of what I called “lotion” on the new baby every time I changed his diaper. She would ask many questions about the whole diaper changing thing and of course one of them that always came up was about the Vaseline. So, thinking I was the smart one, I told her it was special lotion for the baby. Well, of course if it was special enough for the baby it had to be okay for her too right! I took a shower one day while they were napping only to find her missing when I came out. Now, we lived in a tiny place so there wasn’t far to go. After searching I found her hidden under the kitchen table and cloth. With her, the giant jar of Vaseline. When I asked her what she was doing she responded sweetly telling me that she was putting on special lotion. Yes, she had coated her entire body with the largest bottle of Vaseline known to mankind! And, she was too slippery to even think to spank. All I could do was laugh!
